Case study: Narcissus Flower School

Narcissus Flower School was one of McDaid PR’s first clients. Within one year, the PR campaign had reached the eyes and ears of over 1.8 million people.

A proactive and creative approach led to a succession of high-impact media stories for Narcissus Flower School over a 12-month period.

BBC Scotland’s Beechgrove Garden team filmed a daffodil feature, monthly editorial was secured in Scottish Gardener, the Edinburgh Evening News featured Narcissus’s florists on the front page and the school appeared in the Guardian, Scotsman, Herald, Sunday Post, I-on, The Lady and the Scottish Wedding Directory.

As well as placing Narcissus Flower School in the mainstream media, McDaid PR targeted the wedding and events media and award schemes. The highlight was Narcissus being shortlisted in the UK Wedding Awards - the only Scottish floristry team to do so.

Within one year, class sales were up by 40% and one third of all workshops sold out.

Sharon Nugent, former owner of Narcissus Flower School, said “McDaid PR’s activity had a significant impact on people’s awareness of Narcissus Flower School and increased our sales.

“She understood what makes Narcissus unique and special, always came up with creative new ideas and was a pleasure to work with.”
